Squeeze Page Templates - Squeeze Pages That Work

Recently I came across an ebook by Robin Araoz called "Squeeze Page Secrets: Increase Opt-In Rates By More Than 10%". What really impressed me most was not the author, not that I mean to discredit her in any way. She did seem to do her homework very well! To be honest though what impressed me most was WHO she refers to in her recently released ebook.

Summary From An Exclusive Interview About Aweber

Anyone that's ever done any long term internet marketing or created squeeze pages knows that Aweber is the industry leader in online email list building programs, but few people have the talent and experience that these guys have. To clear things up a little bit I'm going to show you a small excerpt from the ebook about squeeze pages;

"This report is the summarization of an exclusive Aweber seminar one of the Rhodes Brothers attended in July 2007. It also includes many observations by the Rhodes Brothers on opt-in forms that have been very successful. Many of their opt-in forms easily hit 50-60% conversion rates."

If you've used Aweber's services then you probably know that they have a program on their website that claims to be able to create squeeze pages for their clients automatically. What most people don't fully realize is that this program ONLY creates a small form with the basic text that you can use to add the HTML code to your websites. It does NOT guarantee that you will get people to sign up for your email list. It does NOT guarantee that using the new squeeze pages (html forms) will increase your conversion ratios. And lastly it does NOT guarantee it will increase your ROI, or "return on investment". It merely makes it simpler for you to create a very basic form so that you can add squeeze pages to your websites.

A Quick Note For Newbies Before We Go Any Further

If you've never used an online email list building program I personally recommend GetResponse. For the value that you get and the level of service that they offer you just can't beat the price. Please note that I am NOT making any money by mentioning their name here and I'm sure that you noticed that this article is about an exclusive Aweber seminar. However, the concept is the same. For those of you who don't know what Aweber or GetResponse is please feel free to use Google and run a search.

I Would Like To Post A Very Brief Disclaimer Here

Earlier this year Aweber held a very limited training session for internet marketers that was offered by invitation only. One of the Rhodes brothers, who is referred to in the above mentioned eBook frequently, was one of the elite fortunate handful of people who participated. Unlike the some of the folks involved, he took mountains of notes. In her publication Robin shares AWeber’s secrets (and proven data!) with you. The quotes are word for word as spoken by the Aweber team.

A Shocking Revelation That Substantiates My Viewpoints

The first direct quote in Robin's Aweber Squeeze Pages eBook states; “Forms never stand alone in isolation. Consider the context. Opt in forms are part of a larger sales process. Again, consider your overall business goals.”

She goes on to tell her readers how important tracking is when internet marketers are setting up their squeeze pages. This is also true when considering your landing page / sales page, the layout of your website or literally ANY WEBSITE PAGE that you hope to link back to and draw traffic from through affiliate programs, JV partnerships, organic search engine traffic, paid search engine traffic (such as Google's Adwords) or any other form of paid internet marketing advertisements.

To summarize her point, which I'm sure any seasoned internet marketing veteran would agree with, when you're setting up squeeze pages to build up your email list you need to track what works and what doesn't work. If you're paying some random company to post YOUR banner on their website, but they're only giving you 10 to 50 unique visitors per week and the conversion ratios are even worse then this is just NOT working! Adversely if you are paying another company to bring organic or paid search engine traffic from Yahoo, Google or Microsoft's own MSN search engine that shows 100 to 300 visitors per day and you're signing up an average of 3% to 5% from these efforts or better than you know that this is working.

Tracking helps you to follow up on what works and what doesn't so that you can alleviate the things that are holding you back and focus your internet marketing / advertising dollars on programs that WORK and point them at your squeeze pages. This is the one biggest and most overlooked secret when it comes to email list building.

Moving On To Robin's Aweber Lesson Number Two

Again, taking a direct quote from the Aweber team ONLY here, as it's not my intention to commit plagiarism. “All opt-in forms and the context around them should be 100% clear; don’t try to be tricky.” There are insider tips, tricks & secrets that I will go in to further in my coming articles, Hubpages posts and release to my own social networking groups. However, for the sake of keeping this simple and giving you information that WORKS it is important for newbies (and even experienced internet marketers) to make sure that you do NOT over-complicating things.

The concept of squeeze pages is SIMPLE and it should be kept that way. If you trick people in to signing up there may be more email names added to your list, but these are NOT the kind of people that you want to market to. I can't stress this enough here or any of my other publications. You want a responsive email list that you can use that will target your specific market.

Aweber Lesson Three Explains Targeted Marketing

“Have opt-ins all over the place for specific goals” says the Aweber team. When they speak of opt-ins or opt-in forms they are talking about what we commonly refer to when we talk about the HTML forms that are used on our squeeze pages. Many internet marketers use an adapted form of these squeeze pages on their landing pages / sales pages.

An interesting point that I heard Armand Morin make recently about squeeze pages that substantiates this point is that most people do NOT do their research. One of the biggest common mistakes is to do a limited amount of research before setting up your squeeze pages and then targeting only a small fraction of your targeted market. People often see the obvious and notice that they the vast majority of those who came before them in their given niche were making sales to people searching for a specific number of content related terms. This is where many internet marketers fail.

To coin a common phrase from video game promoters, you need to "think outside the box". We do NOT live in a black and white world that is one dimensional or even two dimensional. You need to take a more rounded approach when doing your research and come from as many possible angles as you can as you begin to set up squeeze pages to market your products, services or affiliate programs. The logic in this is that if you have a larger number of sources pointing back at your squeeze pages then in theory you are going to sign more people up for these services, make more sales and get more people to opt-in on to your email lists.
